Ballot Curing with OpenField

With election results coming in, you will want to contact people whose ballots need to be verified to ensure that they are counted. 

With OpenField you can import voter data, match on State File ID, and search for the people you want to canvass or phone bank. 

When you import a list into OpenField you have several options, we recommend using ‘Create a list from Unique Identifiers.’ This will allow you to organize people from your file that are already in your database. 

This option allows you to create a List in OpenField using just a Unique ID. You must map at least one Unique ID from the list below. Any person in your file with an ID that matches one in your database will be added to the List.

Available Unique IDs to match on include: 

• Openfield ID
• DWID + State
• Voterbase ID
• Actionkit ID
• Van ID + State
• Action Network ID
• Mobilize ID
• My Campaign ID
• State File ID + State

✏️ Please Note: You can only match on one type of Unique ID at a time.

✏️ Please Note: If you map additional columns in your file (such as name, address, etc.), the data in your file will overwrite the data currently in OpenField.

Once imported you can go to Create Search > List > choose the import. From there you can create a canvas or a phone bank! We added a toggle to the Knock Conversation Code creation screen called Knock Every Door, allowing turfs as small as one single door that can help ensure you talk to everyone you need to.
